Dr. Eng. Ec. Alina Robu is Lecturer at the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. Her academic and research activity focuses on biomaterials and medical engineering, with particular emphasis on the interaction between materials and biological systems and on the development of bioactive materials for medical applications.

She holds a PhD in Materials Science and conducts her activity within the Department of Metallic Materials Science, Physical Metallurgy and Materials Physics. Her academic work involves both teaching and research activities dedicated to materials used in medical applications. Her teaching activity includes courses and laboratory work in areas such as biochemistry, biomaterials biocompatibility, medical concepts for engineers and characterization of materials used in biomedical applications.

Her research is focused on the design, synthesis and characterization of biomaterials intended for medical applications, particularly collagen-based composite systems, hydroxyapatite-based biomaterials and hybrid structures for tissue regeneration and wound healing. Her studies also address antimicrobial functionalization strategies and the evaluation of biological interactions at the interface between biomaterials and living tissues.

Dr. Alina Robu participates in national and international research projects in the field of biomaterials and medical engineering and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams bringing together specialists from materials science, medicine and biotechnology. The results of her scientific activity are published in peer-reviewed international journals indexed in databases such as Web of Science, as well as in papers presented at international scientific conferences.

In addition to teaching and research activities, she is involved in the scientific evaluation process, serving as a reviewer for international journals in the fields of materials science and biomaterials. She also contributes to the development of academic and interdisciplinary collaborations between universities, research institutes and medical partners for the development of new materials and technologies for medical applications.
